Hello all

I have been diagnosed with Chronic myofacial pain syndrome. Where in the VA rating scheme does this fall in? What kind of rating should be expected from this syndrome??

Thanks in advance.

Myofascial pain syndrome is a condition where pain is felt in one part of the body when pressure points are triggered in another, unrelated part. It is rated under code 5021, myositis.

Diseases under diagnostic codes 5013 through 5024 will be rated on limitation of motion of affected parts, as arthritis, degenerative, except gout which will be rated under diagnostic code 5002. So range of motion limitations becomes the rating criteria for compensation.
