Thank you, so maybe it is finally moving forward.
Just like everyone else, I'm just so confused by all these different "stages" and zero updates/clarification from DFAS.
That is understandable...I used to be curious about the length of processing by DFAS and the VA. VA claim processing used to take years at one time. Two examples (mine): one year...two years. Things have certainly improved since then.
On the other hand, CRSC seems to take longer. Possible reasons: More applications and better quality assurance.
Speaking about only my personal philosophy: “Stages” mean little if the item of concern remains at the processing element.
They are meaningful only if one is trying to forecast when they will be paid. Additionally, there is little knowledge of what occurs and how long it takes in each stage. In fact, some processing only involves
—receipt
—work the claim
—process the payment
Most of the elapsed time is in the work the claim “stage” and much that time does not include working on the claim.
Finally, I too would occasionally check on the progress of the processing, but once every ten days, not four times a day like one individual recently said on another board. On the other hand, there are no rules about how many times one can check on the processing of a claim. To each his own...
I sincerely hope everyone who is waiting for their payment receives it soon.
Earlier today, I posted the address and name of the director of retired pay if one wants to file a complaint. I ‘ll find it and post it in this thread.
