So I had a problem with the person that works at the MSA/VA at Madigan. Very rude very unpeofessional and refused to give me her supervisor name or number because in her words " I am a retired SGM and no SPC is ever going to talk to her that way if you want my supervisors name you need to give me your 1SG name and number and do not call or come back until you do." I am sure this is an "isolated incedent" but I did go to patient adv. and IG. Both will try to work the issue because she does work for the MEB section but they have no clue how to handel her. Is there some one who knows any avenue I can use to try to help me out. I am thinking about putting in a congressional on this person is that something I can or should do any help would be great thank you.

Have you tried the Ombudsmans Office yet...... They are impartial and they only report to the DCS. :)

You could always submit an ICE complaint. If you go to the Madigan Army Medical Center Site and look at the top of the page there should be a link that says patient feedback which will take you to the ICE page. I have had good success with this in the past because the complaint gets directed to whomever is in charge of the department and they usually take action to correct problems.

Thank you both very much for your input. I tried the ICE page but they only have a slot for Patient Adv. and I have already complained to them. I will try the ombudsmans office and see what they say about this situation. I am starting to com to the realization that you cant ask questions here and if you complain as the VA lady put it today you are only gonna make it harder on your self you can read between the lines on that one. So as of right now my PEBLO is in a perpetual stat of not knowing any thing about any thing. The VA rep I have here is a dead end. I have no faith in any of the people that are working my MEB/PEB and no end in site. This process is shameful at best. Thank you again so I just need to vent a little with this last part.

As far as a congressional goes...most take Military cases very serious. I've had to go that route and they were taking it straight to the Pentagon. Plus in most cases this is an election year so that may work to your advantage as well! Good luck!

Thanks I am looking into how to start the congressional process, just have to find the start point. I think each and every one of us needs all the good luck karma and what ever else we can get to help us through this. I am ashmed of the way these people treat us had i not being the one going through this I would have found it hard to believe that the people that are suppose to be helping are the ones doing the most harm.

Just call their office directly. They have a person who specifically deals with military issues. They will send you a packet. Like everything else in the military, keep records!

Will do I appreciate the help.

Don't call a state rep...actually call a congressperson. Where are you located?

Washington State, JBLM at Madigan I know its ironic.

Wow! That place is really messed up huh? I hear and read about that place more the past couple months than I have in 12 years! Is that your home?

Right now im stationed here. I was under the impression that they were cleaning up there act. They hired a bunch of people to try and help out in the MEB section and get some relief for the SM that have been in limbo but I guess its still slow going. I by no means am expecting them to be totally fixed in a few months of new leadership. I would have hoped that calling and asking questions would not be a problem but, I get the impression thats a good way to get your process "held up" I can only hope it gets better.

Contact either Washington's Congressperson or from your home state. As much as that place has been in the media...something will happen. It actually works. It may piss them off but apparently they forgot the reason they are there in the first place..... the Soldier!

I have the same MSA and thought she did a good job putting my VA packet together. Sometimes we get frustrated, but remember you can use your PEBLO as they are the go between person. The MSA just writes down what you are requesting to claim then sends it off for VA APPTS. If you feel you have a problem with the MSA, speak to your PEBLO. If the PEBLO is not helping, then talk to the commander. Just give them a chance and use the chain of command. I am sorry to hear you had problems with them and we all know when going through the MEB it can be frustrating but like myself i have to still remember military bearing and that we are still in military uniform. I feel your frustrations but this will just put more on your plate then you need, if you are part of the WTU you can also report it to the WTU COMMANDER and they work directly with the MTF commander at MADIGAN. The MSA works for VA and is something new they recently came up with having them in the Madigan Hosp to help speed up the process. Good Luck. I am looking at this from a command side as i am 1SG and also as a solder going through the MEB. I feel your frustrations, but it will all work out in the long run. Good Luck

Also the ICE that was earlier posted is good way to communicate to the MTF CSM and COMMANDER, They take this stuff very seriously as well as the OMBUDSMON. They all take it seriously. Write an ICE COMMENT and put in the one of the boxes or use their machine at the hospital. It is all confidential.

If you want to contact a Congressman try Senator Patty Murray, she is very involved with the Madigan fiasco. She was helpful and fast when helping with my situation. Keep in mind you can use your Home of Record Congressmen or those where you are stationed. I didn't find Representative Rick Larsen helpful. Just my experience with both of them in WA state.

If you are talking with multiple Congressmen don't drop names, they will push it off on just one of them.
