Hi I just am checking to see if you have already been to legal and told all set for administrative separation would they make sure all your papers were in order. As you know my grandson is still waiting for 10 day and out. I have just been searching for answers why it is so long and thought maybe something went wrong.

It could be. Can you provide background about why he was being administratively discharged?

He was injured long story to make this short doctors and master chief told him if he wanted to get out faster he could take a voluntary administrative separation honorable and he would still have his va benefits except GI bill which he had already finished college before going into seal training. He signed paperwork in January 2022. Went through all his processing out through command and medical and a little over four weeks ago called to legal and signed more things and was told all was done just wait for your 10 day and out. He is nervous and doesn’t know how to find out what is going on. Was told not to come back to legal. He really has no command to go to. He just needs to get home so we can go to va and start the process. Navy has him doing nothing.More background is on my page. Thank you for responding

If something is left out I really don’t know? I know he didn’t want to go through meb. One of his doctor did say she wouldn’t sign for meb. But bottom line here is for 9 months back and forth to doctors and still not better. Not fit for duty said he was never going to get better to keep his MO. Asked for time to get better. But we know that didn’t happen.

Two main points- You already have a thread about your grandson's issues and I responded to it earlier. So, keeping to one thread is the best way to get good input. Second, the main issue seems to be that your grandson chose to accept a voluntary admin separation. Any other issues are going against that election.
Hi I just am checking to see if you have already been to legal and told all set for administrative separation would they make sure all your papers were in order.
They should. But that would likely only be for the action they are processing and have been told your grandson wants. The big issue seems to be that you suspect (probably correctly) that he is giving up pursuing his actual due compensation in order to get out of the Navy (as you said in your other post, he has a job offer and wants to get out as soon as possible).
The legal office is unlikely to do much other than pursue what he has chosen. He wants out as fast as possible, has an involuntary admin separation package, that is what they are likely processing. It makes no sense for them to do anything else. I think it's likely a poor choice, but they can't pursue anything else if he told them that is what he wants and everyone is in agreement.
I know he didn’t want to go through meb.
Exactly. He has chosen to leave under the current package. No one is going to look at another avenue when he must have signed his agreement to the current course of action.

I again mention and advise that for the best help here, keep your issues to one thread and posts within that thread.
