Hello,
I have a question about the retirement pay that I am eligible to apply for since my DOD% is 50%. I was told that there was a website that I would have to use to apply for that benefit. I'm not talking about the disability pay that kicks in 30-60 days after I separate but the one where I am able to receive a percentage of my base pay. My separations clerk is unsure of what I'm talking about. Please advise. Thank you!
I too am unsure of what you are talking about.
1. Last November you said, “Yes. Well, if all goes well, the request would increase my DoD rating to at least 50%. My provider wrote a letter that aligned with a higher percentage rating, providing examples that aligned with the 50% verbiage, instead of the original 30% that I was given. I definitely thank you for the advise. I'm hoping for good results. Since it was the day before Thanksgiving when I got ahold of my attorney and I was not able to meet physically, just over the phone, I wish that I was able to ask more questions.”
2. You mention your separations clerk so it sounds like you are still on active duty.
3. If you have a DOD disability rating of 30% or more you will receive Chapter 61 related disability retirement pay.
4. If you have a VA rating of 10% or more, you will receive VA compensation.
5. Your retired pay will be reduced by the amount of your VA compensation.
6. Are you looking for information on combat related special compensation?
7. CRDP: Do you qualify for another type retirement other than disability?
8. CRSC: Approved Combat Related Special Compensation (CRSC) replaces some or all of the reduced retired pay mentioned above at item 5.

9. Recommend you seek guidance from your PEBLO and the JAG office. You can also use this board, but the local folks have all the pertinent info for your case.
