Well folks this is it. About 12 hours from now I have my MH C&P exam. It's almost 1am and despite the fact I took a sleeping pill I'm still WIDE awake. Freaking out over what will come out of tomorrow. Any last minute tips for me?

I hope all goes well as a result of your exam....I suppose I could tell you to review the VA mental health exam criteria before your exam. Bottom line, it sounds like you are just going to have to take this test. I hope it all goes well for you.

Well that's behind me. I just laid it all out there for the examiner, we'll see what he makes of it. He told me he was leaning PTSD and/or Anxiety Disorder but he has to wait for my military records to finalize his opinion. Anyone know of the fastest/easiest way to get ahold of the reports/records that they are creating on me during this process? Could have sworn that I remember something about a FOIA request or something to that nature...

Sorry, this isn't help but mine was shown to me by the psychologist before be submitted it. For myself, after the Meb recommended unfit. My peblo gave me a copy of entire Meb packet including qtc exams and medical file before it left for peb in San Antonio. Actually should have it to me before I signed Meb packet to look at it and if I wasn't satisfied with it, I could ask the lawyer for advice. You should get a chance to see his exam notes and diagnosis before you sign and peb gets it.

I waited 7 days, then requested a copy of the C&P notes from the VA. I got them in the mail about 5 days after my request.

Good info - thanks!
Do you happen to remember what address you mailed your request to? Is there a form you had to fill out or did you just write them a letter?

I'm not sure where you had your C&P exam done, I'm Dayton Ohio, but I just went down to the VA hospital and requested them. I got them within 15 minutes, it took longer to find an envelope to put them in. I would look at the hospital where the exam was given and start there.

Either go to place you had the exam, or your closest VA facility, find the information desk, and tell them you want to request your C&P exam results. They will point you in the right direction from there.

I'm still here for a couple weeks - will give it a couple days to get "in the system" and then try that :)

usaf1,

All you need to do is go to Medical Records office at the VA hospital where your C&P exam was and request the records. Just be sure you know the date and provider's name regarding your exam because they will ask ask you from which date to which date you want of your records, or, I believe, you can request records from a certain provider...the provider who conducted your C&P. Medical Records office should be able to print records right then and there. Hope this helps.
