Hi everyone!
I was just curious if anyone would be able to give me a general idea as to what they personally think will happen next? I am currently waiting on my results from my MEB. I already have met with my PEBLO and she contacted me th 26th of this month and updated me and told me my package is now at "screening ready-digi cases".

These are the following conditions I was wrote up from (this is directly from the VA website):
  • major depressive disorder
  • single episode
  • severe
  • without psychotic features (New)
  • generalized anxiety disorder (New)
  • right ankle injury (New)
  • allergic rhinitis due to pollen (New)
  • pes planus
  • left foot (New)
  • left hip condition (New)
  • tinea cruris
  • neck
  • right armpit
  • left wrist
  • and right foot (New)
  • headaches (New)
  • dysmenorrhea (New)
  • irregular menstruation
  • unspecified (New)
  • intermittent monocular exotropia
  • left eye (New)
  • upper and lower back condition (New)
  • insomnia (New)
Can anyone tell me as to whether or not these conditions can lead to an early separation? I'm very nervous and just want to make sure I plan ahead.

It all depends on how the DBQ's were written up. Remember 30% is the number you need on the unfitting conditions for medical retirement.

Looking at the claimed conditions; if they are ratable, and service connected by the VA your looking at a high percentage on that side.
 
Secondary conditions that are tied to the referred conditions yes. The rest will all be taken care of by the VA.
 
Ok, Thanks! So just to clarify, the secondary conditions DO count towards the required 30% needed?

Oh I didnt know the number was 30%, I know my foot rsting alone is 10-15%. So is it safe to safe that these conditions are gonna seperate it early then expected? My original road is 12dec20 .
 
What are all of your referred conditions?

It sounds like your package is with the VA for ratings at this point so I would gather that they believe one or more of your conditions is unfitting. However, looking at your previous post it looks like you are Navy; The Navy is harder on MED boards than the other services, I would play it out and wait till you know more. But you should know something in 45-60 days hopefully.
 
I initially was referred with generalized anxiety disorder, major depressive disorder, right ankle injury, left foot injury. Biggest concentration was the depression/anxiety

And yes I'm Navy
 
The GAD, and MDD should get you the medical retirement alone the rest is the icing on the cake.

Yes, the Navy is harder on MEB/PEB - they'll keep you in with mild to moderate PTSD or MDD, especially if it is controlled by medication and you are reasonably able to do your job. This is where the non-medical assessment write-up by your commanding officer comes into play (even that's not guaranteed, but it helps). Make sure you and your Commander are on the same page with the desired outcome. If your mental health conditions are severe, then you 'should' be ok...

Yeaaa... I was just transferred to this command due to my Limdu status and judging by the write up the Captain "wrote" me he said I was unfit to do my job. Was pretty blunt about it
 
I'm an aviation mechanic. However due to my prescriptions for my depression and anxiety I'm unable to operate with/on heavy machinery. I barley can stay awake have the time. And I have an ankle/foot condition (caused from an injury I got while on deployment) and I cant stand on it for long periods of time without it swelling and hurting. So I'm a mech who cant do a mech job. I'm basically paperwork b^$&#....
 
Well, I'm a Surface Warfare Officer who as a Department Head on a DDG (WEPS). My job was to navigate ships at sea and fight the ship in combat as the Tactical Action Officer. Due to severe PTSD/MDD I was removed from the ship. Now I am basically an admin b*tch modifying powerpoints. Besides those two referred conditions, I have narcolepsy, migraine headaches and fibromyalgia. I have severe pronation in both feet (pes planus) and a list of other aliments. I've got 22 years in right now, and I am just tired of being taken through the ringer. I have been on 4 periods of LIMDU in my career and you're only technically allowed 2. I'm just ready to go. I'm over it.
 
Quick question!
Can anyone tell me how they are going abouts getting updates about their case? Are you guys checking online? Calling someone? I have been using the VA website but I didnt know if there is somewhere else I can go to
 
Your welcome, VA.gov refers you to E-benefits for percentages and pay.
