Hey everyone,
I have been lurking the form and wanted to now reach out for help/advice as I am looking for guidance if anyone has seen/been through it themselves
I had started going to mental health about a year ago for anxiety that was work related (submarine nuke) and was diagnosed with Adjustment disorder with mixed anxiety/depression. I went to some appointments and started feeling okay (not better just okay) with the situation, but then COVID happened and the appointments dropped off because I just gave up on it.
Fast forward to the beginning of this year I was notified by NCIS that I was a victim of being recorded in the showers while on deployment - i had to watch the video and ID myself and give a statement and I immediately started going to MH again as my entire trust in the system was broken, and my own fear of being that position again. I was diagnosed with AD again with the same mixed anxiety and depression. I told my UMO that I am really afraid of going into that situation again and I am feeling a lot of stress and anxiety about the situation and the future.
He wants me to continue going to MH and potentially get medicated, but honestly, I don't see how either of those can get me to a place of being comfortable being in a ships showers/head that is public and shared after what happened. He said if there isn't a breakthrough moment he would put me in for a medboard so I assume that means continue going and see if anything changes.
With that backstory - where would this go? I can't find anything about a similar situation or how it gets treated. Thank you for any and all help.
