Medical records during the MEB/IPEB

Does MEB/IPEB based their decision just only on what they received? Or do they check the current medical records for updates?

I have the same question.

Bottom line is that medical statuses change during the year+ it takes for this process. Since my process started I will have had 2 surgeries, multiple other procedures and appointments 2 and 3 times a week.

Welcome to the PEB Forum! :)

Hmm, indeed a very good question in my opinion albeit the MEB Physician during my DoD IDES process informed me that they try to use medical evidence/documentation which is no more than six months old upon NARSUM dictation.

Moreover, from my experiences within the DoD IDES process, the opportunity to implement an IMR, MEB appeal, FPEB hearing and/or VARR request is the perfect venue to introduce updated medical evidence/documentation in support of a DoD IDES participant's case.

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer."

Best Wishes!
