I am going through a medical board at this time and my speraration date is coming up in January. I was told that 3 months before January, I can cancel my medical board and exit the military if I want to. Obviously my life is on hold and this just makes me depressed knowing that I have to wait a year or more for my findings from the email I received..I am trying really really hard to stay positive and that's even kicking my butt..
Sooooo......
If I cancel my medical board, would I still receive VA benefits? Would there be any limitations if I cancel this process and go straight to the VA?
Has anyone went through this decision making before?
