MED BOARD ??

I recently ( 12 May) had a complete left shoulder replacement at Tripler AMC, and the LTC that did the surgery said he would recommend a medical discharge. Apparently, this type of surgery has a limited time before it wears out and needs to be redone, and military life would speed up the wearing process. The ortho doctor at my duty station (Korea) said he will initiate the MED a month before my PCS back stateside in October 08. I just got orders to FT Hood, and am wondering if anybody has any ideas what kind of headaches I can expect arriving to unit that's deploying 3 months after I get there. My PULHES profile new has 3's in the upper and lower, and I can expect a hip suregery within the next 4 years.

My doctor in Korea gave me a P3 in U and L, but it was only signed by him. He said when I arrive at Ft Hood, show it to the medical officer for my unit and he should start an MEB. I have done that and the Battalion surgeon as scheduled me to take xrays of my lt shoulder replacement, and my RT should and LT hip, which have also been causing me alot of pain. My question is can I be MED boarded solely for having had the shoulder replaced?
