MEB Rebuttal

I turned in my MEB rebuttal last week and have not heard anything back yet. The reg says 5 days for them to respond. Any timeline experience with this?

Not sure what branch you are in but....
Yesterday was my 5 week mark on my rebuttal through Camp Lejeune. Today (after a little pestering) the PEBLO contacted the formal board office to see what was going on. Turns out it never went to a formal board and the informal changed their mind from "fit" to "unfit".

Long story short:
Don't believe the timelines. When I originally submitted they said 1-3 weeks with a FPEB date in AUG-SEPT. Last week when I called they said no its more like 30-45 days with a FPEB date of late OCT- early NOV. It may not be what you want to hear but they are getting backed up and they are taking closer to 45 days on rebuttals.
 
I'm on week 3 of waiting. I was told by both my PEBLO and MEB lawyer that it's taking Ft. Bragg about 3-4 weeks for the MEB rebuttal. It seems the regulations on how long it takes only are truly applied to the Soldier's time to make a decision.

If we're late on our decisions it's assumed that we agree, but the MEB can take as long as it wants it appears.

I plan on giving it 4 weeks and then getting the ombudsman involved.
 
MEB rebuttal is a completely different level of appeal from a PEB formal or informal appeal. The OP said MEB rebuttal that happens at your local mitiary treatment facility and the turnaround time should be extrmely quick. I did one and it was a week IRRC.

Sadly, that's what I'm talking about. The MEB rebuttal at the MTF. The first excuse I was given was that the doc that does the rebuttals was on leave and returned 7 days after mine was submitted...that was 14 days ago. Still waiting on that to come back so it can then be sent on to the IPEB.
 
Roger I think you will have before then. I was ready to go to San Antiono , I was in all the way for becoming unfit. Just stay focus and don't give in.
 
Congrats, I heard back yesterday as well, 23 days for mine. I hope your response was positive!
