Hello all,

I have a couple concerns regarding the MEB/PEB... Here is my timeline:

IDES Referral: 01/03/2012
IDES Member Counseled: 01/04/2012
IDES VA Case Received: 01/09/2012
Memeber Counseled by VA MSC: 01/11/2012
QTC/VA Medical Exam: 01/24/2012
Draft NARSUM: 01/24/2012
VA Exams Received by Navy/VA: 02/21/2012
MEB should be done: 27 Feb - 02 Mar 2012

I learned that my MEB should be completed by next week and submitted and to the PEB by 05-09 Mar 2012... I see that it has been taking people about 7 weeks for the PEB to rule and send it to the VA, if found unfit. My VA exams look good, they report:

1. Tinnitus
2. Prostatitis
3. Right Shoulder Condition: Post Op - 3 major operations, neuroma, massive muscle lost, athropy, decrease in ROM, weakness
Ulnar Nerve Transposition - 1 surgery, moved my elbow nerve under a different muscle, nerualgia, muscle athropy, weakness, pain
4. Nerve Condition:
"Motor function is abnormal with findings of weakness of right shoulder and arm
Power 4 Sensory function on the right for the I nerve(s) is decreased based on the modality of touch and vibration. Sensory function on the right for the II nerve(s) is decreased based on the modality of touch and vibration. Sensory function on the right for the III nerve(s) is decreased based on the modality of touch and vibration. Sensory function on the right for the IV nerve(s) is decreased based on the modality of touch and vibration."
5. Scars from multiple surgeries

However, due to my disability and the medication, I have failed 2 straight BCA's. I have been in almost 9 years and have never failed until I got to this Command, and believe me they are career killers. I failed the BCA last cycle by a 1/2 inch (0.5 in). Can you believe that? Well, the question is, will they be able to ADSEP me if I fail May's BCA? I should have results back from the PEB by May, but I just wondering if they would be able cancel my package even though they have found me unfit and getting ready to separate or retire? Please help on this end.

How long does the whole process take after the PEB finds you unfit and they send the package to the VA until you get orders to separate or retire? Anyone have any experience? Thanks!

Update: 15 Mar 2012

MEB package signed and sent to PEB: 06 Mar 2012
PEB Received package from Naval Health Clinic Hawaii: 09 Mar 2012
PEB Started Package review: 14 Mar 2012
PEB Findings: 15 Mar 2012

PEB found me unfit for continued service, my case referred to VA for rating... Does anyone know how long this process usually takes?

Just got word that the PEB for the Navy is reviewing cases and ruling on them within 2 days. My PEBLO told me that they finally got caught up on cases left over from the holidays.

Birchtx,

I am in a similar position. Two BCA Failures concurrent with my MEB/PEB process.

I would suggest going to see a JAG to discuss how the two processes will turn out, side by side. Check when your Legal Services Office has walk in/ sign up appointments.

What base are you at?

Best,
Green

Greengal13,

How far along in the process are you? MEB or the PEB?

I am stationed at NAVSTA Pearl Harbor.

Thanks!
