MEB in the time of COVID-19

I’m hopeful my timeline keeps moving quickly but here’s another JBLM COVID timeline:

27MAY- perm profile finalized
26JUN- PEBLO assigned
1JUL- PEBLO phone meeting; told my medical records were almost ready for the VA
13JUL- VA calls during meeting. Unable to answer or call back. No voicemail.
14JUL- same thing. VA calls and unable to answer or call back. No voicemail.
15JUL- finally able to answer. Emails me form to fill out for my claims
20JUL- claims set by MSC and sent to QTC for appointments.
27JUL- I contact QTC directly to request appointments (phone number is 800-682-9701). Paperwork isn’t finished- told me to call back the next week.
5AUG- contact QTC again. Case manager at QTC was able to schedule all of my appointments for the following week.
12AUG- Hearing and Psych appts w/QTC
13AUG- Labs, X-Rays and general medical appts w/QTC.

Doc at QTC told me it would be under review for about a week before being sent to the VA to be rated. Crossing my fingers the VA ratings will only take a couple weeks like some of yours did. Will update once I know more.

**ALSO- highly recommend contacting QTC directly and requesting your C&P exams to be scheduled. Wait about a week after setting your claims with your MSC and then call. Saved me so much time!!

Totally agree!!!! I called QTC the day in person appointments were allowed in my area and got all mine scheduled within 3 days. That’s was after sitting for 2 months Because of no in person appointments.

It must be noted that I finished my initial packets the same day I recieved them from my peblo/ msc. ALSO QTC was called July 30th and found that they had my address, email, and phone number incorrectly submitted to their system. After correction they were able to schedule me immediately, documents were downloaded from their examinees portal instead of waiting for mail.

Hopefully I'll get my Fit/Unfit and ratings next week so I can start my outprocessing.

Thanks for the tip! I Called and they told me the reports have been sent on their end, oddly enough though when I asked my PEBLO earlier today if shes received anything she said no.

Approximately how long after your last exam did you receive your narsum?

Not OP, but 8 days after my last exam at QTC my PEBLO called with my NARSUM. Was told that was really fast though.

Yeah mine was about 7 days. My peblo was pretty slow with getting it to me according to the meb doctor. She finished it within 5 days .

So i was found unfit and package sent back to the peb may 23 and still haven’t heard anything from them yet!

Another update. Completed all of my exams and received my NARSUM. The NARSUM said that PTSD was not combat related or due to armed conflict. I also took a shot at having my migraines added as a fails to meet retention standards condition. I requested an IMR and that process took 3 days. The PTSD was corrected to be combat related and the notes for migraines were corrected but they were not added as a fails to meet retention standards condition. I concurred with the amended NARSUM and it was submitted to the PEB on 09 JUL 20. Now I'm waiting on fit for duty determination and/or ratings. I was told by my PEBLO that this process has been moving very quickly lately and that I should expect ratings within two weeks. I will believe that when I see it. I will update here when I hear anything

See had to call the van to get my ratings that were finished back in April, they sent my packet back to the peb because i was found unfit on July 23 now I’m just waiting on my reaults but it seems you got yours back pretty fast!

Mine is going on 3 weeks my package got sent back to the peb July 23. My lawyer said it would take two weeks but i have not heard anything yet!

I hope you get your answers soon. I am hopeful for before October regarding mine, but with the legacy it tends to be that way. Keep us posted!

It is not easy. I did just go though TAP and I am going to be taking as many of the other classes they offer (Employment, school, interviewing...etc), that would be my advice to you as well. As crappy as it is to wait at least we can use this time to sharpen our skills moving forward, I know its helping me a bit.

How did you get them to expedite your MEB?! I've been doing this since Jan/Feb and I have been waiting for PEB Decision on being Unfit and Final Decision for a month.

I think Fort Sam Houston is one of the central hubs for army ides. I’m guess it’s faster to do things when you can get it all done at the same base where they do the PEB.
