Hey Team,

Just wanted to give a partial timeline as I started this journey just as the COVID-19 was starting to ramp up. I am going through the MEB at JBLM and every step of the way has been very slow. Hopefully the system will once again begin to flow at some point the spring/summer.

TIMELINE:

31 JAN 20 - P3 initiated by BH provider
19 FEB 20 - MEB initiated / PEBLO assigned
27 FEB 20 - first meeting with PEBLO
03 MAR 20 - MEB in-brief
05 MAR 20 - first meeting with MEB doc
24 MAR 20 - VA claims with MSC (was told there is no current estimate for when exams will be scheduled)

If you are at JBLM and close to my timeline, chime in with your experience. Good luck!

Just a small update. Last Thursday - 02 APR 20 - I was contacted by QTC and told all of my C&P's had been scheduled. On Friday I called to get the schedule and was told that they had just - 03 APR 20 - been directed to cancel all in person appointments and not reschedule until a time yet to be determined. They said it is possible that some appointments could take place telephonically but no guidance had been issued as of yet. So I'm assuming that my C&P's will be delayed until at least the middle of MAY. I will update when I have more information.

I think we are in same track. so let me share my timeline here incase if you need help for the future.

Same here. JBLM also.

Last QTC: March 5th
NARSUM Signed: April 7th
Packet Sent to PEB: April 15th
Called VA and they said I have been found unfit: April 27th (ish)
PEBLO Said Packets are taking around 60 days to come back from PEB/VA: May 5th

I’m very close on my timeline. Packet was sent to JBSA PEB on April 17. Received unfit memo on April 24th but it was dated April 17. My case closed on VA.gov on May 8, called my PEBLO this morning and she said she can’t see anything

Can I ask how many claims you had? I had ~25 and our timelines are almost the same but my case hasn't been updated in VA.

I had 5 BH claims that got grouped into one and then one other non-BH claim. Only my BH claim was found unfitting

Also I called the VA and they said they received my request for ratings from the PEB on April 24. So it took from April 24-May 8 for the VA to assign me recommended ratings

Wow, that was a pretty quick turnaround. Hopefully you hear something soon.

LOL, No joke We are like ~5 days different.... And do not trust your PEBLO. That's what my PEBLO told me... LOL

Another little update. I called QTC on 3 June 2020 to see when my exams would be rescheduled. The level 1 person told me the same old song and dance, covid...policy...blah...blah...blah. I told her that others were starting to get appointments and I wanted to talk to a case manager. 10 minutes later, all of my appointments were scheduled and my first C&P exam is tomorrow. The moral of the story is that none of the QTC level 1 operators are here to help you. Ask to be transferred to a case manager and ask them to schedule your appointments. I should have all of them complete by 23 June 2020 so this fiasco cost me 3 months of my life. oh well

Another update. Completed all of my exams and received my NARSUM. The NARSUM said that PTSD was not combat related or due to armed conflict. I also took a shot at having my migraines added as a fails to meet retention standards condition. I requested an IMR and that process took 3 days. The PTSD was corrected to be combat related and the notes for migraines were corrected but they were not added as a fails to meet retention standards condition. I concurred with the amended NARSUM and it was submitted to the PEB on 09 JUL 20. Now I'm waiting on fit for duty determination and/or ratings. I was told by my PEBLO that this process has been moving very quickly lately and that I should expect ratings within two weeks. I will believe that when I see it. I will update here when I hear anything

That is very quick what branch may I ask? I just had mine sent to peb, waiting for received response. The uscg is stating once received less than 4 months, but two weeks would be awesome. Keep us posted please and thank you!

I'm Army. Two weeks seems impossible based on everything I have read here but it is a different time right now. Perhaps they completely cleared the backlog while MEB exams were suspended during COVID. Who knows, but I would be extremely happy to have results in that time frame!

Another update. My PEBLO just called and said that my ratings are in. She said she was shocked at how quickly they came back given my packet was submitted to PEB 7 days ago. I'm hoping others are sharing similar experiences with their timelines. More to follow but she told me over the phone that my ratings were 70% DOD and 100% VA, TDRL but said that was standard for BH cases. I will update again with the next steps but I believe that I'm inside of 30-45 days from being out of the Army.

Any word on orders? I am about 8 days behind you it looks like; trying to figure out how long it takes from signing the 199 to getting the letter of release - I've gotten a lot of conflicting answers. Thanks!

Another update, I got my orders yesterday, 28 JUL 20, on the same day I dropped off my commander's counseling. I will try to start clearing tomorrow. I have my TA-50 ready for turn in so hopefully CIF is gentle! I have my leave form and I'm thinking I can sign out NLT 18 AUG 20. The last two weeks have gone crazy fast. Hope everyone else is sharing similar timeliness!

Approximately how long after your last exam did you receive your narsum?
