Short and skinny of it is this...
I've got ten years ADAF and about 9.5 of ANG. I've been on MPA orders for the last 3.5 years. Had a diagnosis of osteoarthritis in the hips, went to PT for about 6 months, went back for x-rays, then had a total right hip replacement. I also have sleep apnea with a CPAP. They're doing the MEB because I was on profile for over a year, since it started when I first went to PT for the arthritis. My 469 says "no running or high impact on lower extremities." I passed my last fit-test with an 80 and failed the three before that...just barely though.
So, this is my biggest concern. I've met my PEBLO on Friday and he couldn't give me a definitive answer about the medical retirement, since it looks like that's where this is headed. I've read every shred of paperwork and what's it really saying? If I've got over 20 years of total active service and the unfit rating is >30%, then it's medical retirement. Does that mean I will receive my retirement immediately after my retirement date, just like someone from ADAF?
My ANG MDG told me I would, but the PEBLO wasn't sure. I have LODs for all of my conditions and it will most likely add up to >50% and an unfit rating, meaning med-retire. Anyone have experience with this? I combed the "Reserve component" forums but could only find things with individuals having less than twenty years and opting for the retirement at 60 option.
Basically, am I correct to assume that since I was on active duty orders when these things happened, and I have LODs for them, and I'll most likely be retired, I should be drawing retirement right away with a >30% unfit on the IPEB?
