Proposed Ratings From VA: November 2, 2023

Basically I just wanted to respond to you to let you know that the QA alone seems to take a long time. As you can see it took 2-3 weeks to get the proposed ratings from the VA (Which did help to relieve some stress, having an idea of the future), but from there steps are taken and then you go into QA. I spoke to the PEB on 20Dec, and he stated that the oldest case in QA they had, had been there for something like 56 days. For me that suggests that 60 days is probably close to when that process is up.

When you see that your claim has closed on the VA app or website, make sure that you call their hotline to get a copy of your ratings. They say that they mail a hard copy to you, but they actually don't. Many folks here say that they were told that they can't receive the proposed ratings, but I would suggest to keep calling until you get someone who will send you them. The lady I spoke to that day basically just kept stressing that they were "Proposed" ratings, so you just have to make them understand that you understand that. Some tact works generally.

Va claim closed January 4, 2023
I called the VA and got them to email my proposed ratings (90%). It only took 1 try.

Did you dial 5 then 1?
I think. I can't check because line is closed at the moment. What I told them was that "I was to be expecting a letter related to my claim and I didn't have access to my mail because I was out of town." I then ask if they could email me the letter and that I understood it was only a proposed rating. He was more than happy to email it.

From what I've seen, as long as you get someone that is inclined to help and they know you understand that they are "proposed" ratings, most the time they will email them.

Thanks, no luck yet lol. What's the PEBs number?
571-442-0592.
Remember they are EST time zone, so depending where you are you will have to adjust for that.

**Update**

Called the PEB Thursday February 1, and they said my case was still being voted on. He wouldn't give me any additional info. He did say that it's going to take time and that they had only just received my case on Jan 3rd even though it was sent to the PEB on Dec 11 and they accepted Dec 12. A previous update from my PEBLO on Jan 22, was that it was with the 3rd officer. I hate to keep calling the PEB and my PEBLO but since the date of submission it has been 8 weeks and I have nothing stating whether I've been found fit or unfit, even if it's just preliminary.

I think the general consensus is that if you get proposed VA ratings you're unfit. Getting a direct answer on you being unfit from the PEB before your findings isn't a guarantee. I didn't get that until I got my findings.

That's what I thought. But why say I'm still in the voting stage, if I'm not? My proposed ratings came a month ago.

**Update**

Just called the PEB and they said the just received my ratings from the VA. I called on Friday and they said it was still being voted. It took 41 days from PEB receiving my case until preliminary findings.
