So as most of us going through MEBs, I'm losing my cool with this whole process. I wish I would have found this site months ago!!! I started having issues after having my son in April of 2011. After two surgeries and 3 conditions found, I was finally recommended for an MEB in Feb 2012. Luckily my caring doc is Navy so he tries to keep my care going. (I warn you I'm bitter as I write this) I finally went to California in very beginning of June 2012 for my VA exams. VA misplaces my case and returned it to my PEBLO in mid July 2012. My PEBLO rushed it to get through the final process locally and sends my package off to AFPC who receives it around 23 July. And that is the last thing I have heard. It's been almost 45 days now and all my PEBLO says is "it can take 120 days". I know that AFPC is back logged but any information or effort of trying to check on my case status would be satisfying. In the mean time, my doctor who is caring for me decides that I should finally go through with a 3rd surgery since all the meds I'm on are giving me side effects worse than the benefits. Before I even went to the doc appointment, I asked my PEBLO if he tries to get me to do the surgery, what would that do to my MEB. My PEBLO said nothing because it's already at AFPC. So I agreed to just get it out of the way, get scheduled, and notify my PEBLO. At the time I notify him, the story changes to "I have to get it cleared through the Chief of Medical". This would have been very helpful information BEFORE I get in the mind set to get the operation out of the way. Well Chief of Medical then refers my PEBLO to my Case Manage at AFPC who states that if I go through with the surgery that my case will be pulled and I have to start all over. Of course, I'm not going to do that. I can not repeat the last 7 months!!! I feel bad for my PEBLO cause it doesn't seem like he has been trained enough to know what to do and is finding out as he goes. I asked that my PEBLO to respond to my AFPC case manager to not pull my case and I'll just wait on the surgery. I'm not sure if that happened or not but I've been instructed not to call AFPC and check on my case that I have to go through my PEBLO. I'm just so tired of getting the run around. And who knows how much longer I still have to go. Any advice out there on how to handle this situation??? Thanks!!!
