Looking for...

I am looking for place where I can see a step by step process from begining to end for the disabled veterans returning from OIF/OEF. From to PEB/MEB process to the VA rating.

That explains what returing Veterans are entitled too. Such as SSDI and Civilian job Disability.

I have looked around and there seems to be confusion on when to start each step. Or how to start each process. Or what steps they are entitled too.

Thank you!

Well it would all start with a referral to a MEB/PEB in any of the respective services. Aside from the wealth of information available on this forum (if you look hard enough you can find almost anything relating to the veteran's disability system) you can visit this site that describes in depth the MEB/PEB process and explains some of the terminology used:

Army Physical Disability Separation Boards

After that, how you proceed depends on several variables. I will let others chime in but realistically your best bet is to read the posts on this forum for a better understanding of what happens after the PEB gives you a rating. Good Luck.

crmason,

if you can give us a run down of you history, i'm sure we can point you in the right direction. i'm going through the DES w/the AFNG now and have already initiated my stuff w/the VA and social security, so i may be able to give you some insight on these steps. i'm also going through the retirement process w/my civ. job and i'm utilizing an agancy that helps disable vets find employment (wounded warrior project). so if i can be of any assistance, let me know. good luck!

Robs 42 is just the person I am looking for...

We are a few steps ahead of you, I think...

PEB/MEB was done in September 2008

My husband filed for Disability with his Civilian Job. We got deducted because of his SSDI.

We just got our rating back from the VA. He is at 90% Service Connected.

So what do we do now??? Someone said we need file now CRSC????

If his conditions are "combat-related," then, yes, apply for CRSC.
