LIMDU/ PEB with a PCS?

Hello all.

I currently sit at a Naval station in Japan as a LIMDU ENS. I have moderate/severe curve from scoliosis which has put me on my second LIMDU period effective today. In addition, I will be leaving my current location for LIMDU orders in April to San Diego.

I was in teh SWO designation, but would like to try something else (AMDO).

MY questions are this:
I failed the overseas screening when I was given hard orders to my current command. But, was told to stay here. the MTF here cannot properly treat my scoliosis, so in turn, I have been wasting valuable time here. I cannot get acupuncture which helps me immensely.

I want to know what I can expect from here on out. I will be PCS'ing to another shore command in San Diego for treatment at the hospital there.

I am trying to look at redesignation, not much luck. as most of it requires to be OFF limdu, or so I understand from the NPC instruction.

Should they ultimately discharge me, how can I calculate what benefits I will receive?
thank you to all who help!!!

c172pic,

Welcome! Sorry to hear of your troubles.

The answer to your question of what benefits you would receive depends on what basis they discharge you and, if through the disability evaluation system, what level of disability you have.

Please be vigilant about any discharge based on "unsuitability." If they try to go this route, please update here and I will offer comments. The Navy has a nasty habit of denying Sailors and Marines disability benefits based on this route.

Thank you for your quick reply. Can you go into some discussion on the latter of what you posted.

The medical personel, and even detailer, have thrown the word, "unsuitable" (and other variations of it) around. So, it seems like that may go that route.

My condition was pre-existing pre-navy. HOWEVER, it was nowhere near as severe. Never limited me from anything. Plus, they approved my overseas screening with no limitations even when it was clearly documented. What sort of case do you feel I have?

thank you again!
