Is it possible to reject a decision?

I have had back issues for years now and they keep getting worse. I have degenerative spine disease, arthritis throughout my back, bulging discs and narrowing of the spinal canal. I've been in for 15 years and just want to do what is best for my family. If I push for the board and fail to meet the 30% to get retired can I opt to stay in?

If they find you unfit and you fail at getting 30% it might be possible for you to return to duty but with the military trying to reduce numbers it'll be tough, and also with your back they really base your rating on the ROM test more than the injury itself unless it affects other parts of your body

Good Luck

go to the attorney rebutt it! If it fails you can apply for a coad "continuation of activie duty" Im at 17 and awaiting ratings .

I'm just shy of 17.5 years and just got a rating of 20% for degenerative disk disease and scoliosis. I definitely don't want to lose my retirement this close to the end. Does anyone have a good example of a COAD recommendation memo? I'm trying to get all the help I can to make it to 20.
