Is it normal for me to receive my proposed VA rating before my IPEB is even complete?

My VA.gov account said my claims case had been closed on 10 May but no claims letters were loaded. I called the benefits number and they were able to email it to me. I spoke with my PEBLO today and she said she hasn't received anything from the IPEB findings yet.

I guess my question is, seeing so many people on this forum having to wait for months on end, is it normal for me to already have my proposed rating before the IPEB even finishes their investigation?

this has been the same for me. This is par for the course. The VA closes their case and forwards it to the PEBLO/MEB where they will determine your DOD rating. Then they will call you with the "findings" for you to sign. My case was closed on May 4th and my PEBLO has not contacted me with the findings yet

Findings generally take between 10-20 days from what I've seen. I wouldn't fret, you're well within the normal time for this part. PEB has to put a package together of your DOD/VA ratings and explanations, and then you'll get it in a DODSAFE email.

I think you have mentioned this before somewhere on here but how long did it it take for you to get a sep date after signing your findings? (if you have gotten it yet)

I'll let you know..... Signed April 26, as of Tuesday PERS didn't even have my paperwork.

From my understanding, the PEB rules you fit/unfit and then sends that determination to the VA who, in turn, determine their ratings. From there, the PEB determines DoD ratings. Anyone feel free to correct me, but if the VA has forwarded their ratings to the PEB, it means that the PEB has already found you unfit. I am in the same boat as you, just waiting on DA199 at this point.
