Is a VSO equal to a MSC?

Since I am 3 months going through the IDES process, my Military Services Coordinator has been out for 2. We all get sick, and I understand that, but extensions have happened 3 times.

Is the MSC essentially the same as a VSO only unique to the IDES process?

Can I utilize a VSO in addition to a MSC while going through the IDES process?

Furthermore, the JAG MEB attorney will be retiring next month. It's realistic they have already punched out, for when I receive percentages in a month or 2 in Europe.

While there are plenty of legal representation sources after one is separated (both legitimate and cash grabs) what options does a SM have, if they choose to to pay for their own representation while going through IDES?

I sent you a PM. My wife hired a private attorney. It was the best decision we have made. We are waiting for the unfit finding and ratings but so far so good. We even got another condition added as unfitting at the NARSUM stage because my wife's attorney gave her some advice on gathering medical evidence and what to be said on the commander's impact statement. Her commander let her write it herself:)
 
An MSC is a VA employee. They are suppose to help the member prepare their claim. A VSO does not work for the VA. They often work/volunteer for a county government or veterans organization. They also help the veteran file claims.
