IPEB Timeline

Just wondering about other people in the same situation as I and their timelines. I was recommended for the medical board and her is my timeline so far. Please tell me what your timelines are so I can see if I am the only one taking this long. Thanks.

6 Jul-signed MEB packet
25 Jul-PEB receives packet

I see on AKO that the MEB is awaiting PEB findings. Is anyone else in the same boat? Also, I am at the DC PEB.

I am also at the DC PEB, last update from PEBLO 8/18, #63 out of 84 to be reviewed. It's going slow. Do you know what # you are in line @ DC? I'm worried they'll have to extend me before they ever get to it.
 
I have no idea what # I am in line at the PEB. I didn't even know the PEBLO could get that detail of an update...my PEBLO is a bit slow. I would hope I am not to far behind you being that ours went up the same week. Your ETS is near? If so your unit should already be on top of that and prepare your extension. I hope that because I have four unfitting conditions I don't take a long time at the PEB.
 
My PEBLO said she gets a list from the PEB, don't know how often it is updated. It is worth asking about. As far as extending, ETS is Feb. Hope it's done by then. I was found unfit on 6 conditions, no idea how long it will take.
 
I talked to our Jag who used to be the PEB Jag. She told me that they are now doing formal PEB 3 days a week to reduce the back log of formal PEBs. As such the IPEB, which is done by the same group, is now only being done two days a week. So because of this the IPEB are slowing down. Now this is just DC so I can't speak for the rest.
 
thanks for the info, that does explain the wait in DC. PEBLO got a new PEB update fax this a.m., ...now #34 out of 79 cases at the PEB, finally some movement!
 
Called my PEBLO today. He said he got a copy of my "unfit" memo which was forwarded to VA. The letter was dated 16 Aug. The VA go the packet on 19 Aug. Now I just hope VA doesn't take more then a month to rate me.
 
Are you in the pilot program? I'm confused, the VA isn't involved in my PEB at all. I went to the VA before all of this started and got a 70% rating, it took awhile and was initially denied, approved a year later after appeal @ 70%. Things seem to move quickly for the people in the pilot program.
 
Yes, I am part of the pilot program. VA is doing the rating and will send a "proposed" rating to the PEB so they can concur and then I get it to decide if I am going to appeal or sign it as is. I wonder how much longer now that the PEB has their findings.

I would say your timeline is pretty quick, at least comparatively. I had my MEB on 5 May and am still waiting to sign my NARSUM. This Friday will be 16 weeks that I have been waiting and I was told that it should be done within 30 days. As of today it does not appear that it will be ready anytime soon either.
 
The process has just started to speed up for me. I was initially referred to the MEB Nov 2010. My unit just had their hands in everything and slowed the process down. I called VA (1-800-827-1000) and the rep told me my packet is in phase 2 which is decision phase... Next will be notification phase. Although I expect VA to be done in a few days I know it will be weeks or months before I get to sign the 199 and have orders to start clearing.

During this whole process I have contacted the VA and the DC PEB which is how I know when the case went to the different agencies. Now the PEBLO tells me in 7-10 days I will get word from PDA through him (not sure what the PDA does) then the transition point will cut orders

My case has to be on the long side as far as timelines go. I'm active duty Army stationed in DC going through the DC PEB.

I finally recieved my Army and VA ratings!!! I was very happy with the ratings but was hugely disappointed in the timeframe everything has taken. Here is my overall timeline as of today;

Army rating 70% TDRL
VA rating 100%

Congrads!!!! Did they give you an idea of how long until you get your memo of release from the PDA so you can get your orders?
 
They said it averages 1 to 4 weeks to actually get orders. So in reality that probably means 3-4 months ;-(... I'll keep updating as I get more info.
