IPEB question Ebenefits

My PEBLO informed me on the 8th of may that I was found unfit and my package was sent to the VA for the rating.

My VA ebenefits now has two claims. One of says compensation: preparation for decision. The other one says Regulatory or procedural review: it says claim received.

My question is why is there two claims now and what does the procedural review mean?

If you are going through Baltimore- they are sending the IDES cases to Cleveland to be processed quicker. Cleveland simply does the rating part. Mine went really quick through Cleveland...only taking a few days to complete and close- but then gets sent back to Baltimore for the "admin stuff, writing up your benefits letter and final signatures" (per IRIS inquiry)-That part of the process took me 2.5 weeks. Baltimore received my peb paperwork 28 March- mailed it back to PEB 30 April...still waiting on my findings...there are plenty of other postings are the same question you just asked under the va benefits section for additional information. Hope this helps!

The claim that says preparation for decision is in Rhode Island and the one that says procedural review is in Cleveland. So it didn't get kicked back to start over. This is normal?

Yes this is normal. Cleveland is doing your rating- which has gone very quickly for most people. Once Cleveland is done they send the rating back to your main office of jurisdiction- in your case Rhode Island.

OK good! I stressed out for nothing! Thanks for the quick responses!

I have also brought up the same question to my VA MSC. The closed claim from clevland " Regulatory or procedural Review'' is just stating that you have been accepted into VR&E and 20% or greater on your VA claim.

VR&E? I haven't applied for that. So it means that I was found at least 20%?

You may have applied for it at your DTAP brief and you just don't remember it... Go to your local VA office on your post and find out where the closest VR&E rep is at and talk to a counselor!
