Child will qualify for Tricare Prime with medically retired father's insurance. However, there will be copays. He could go on step father's active duty Tricare Prime which has no copays. Can he change to stepfather's policy immediately or would he have to wait for open enrollment window? Is father's retirement a Qualifying Life Event?
If child loses Tricare due to father retiring, can active duty stepfather put him on his tricare policy?

When the bio dad retires tricare prime ends and he has to enroll the child in one of the retiree plans it looks like he needs to not do that and wait for the stepfather to enroll the child. Once again you really need to call Tricare.
