IDES TIMELINE USMC

How much longer do you think I have since I’m now out of QA. Would love to sign my findings asap
If you are done with QA then it should be this week. You can call the PEB and (if the person who answers is in a good mood) they can tell you how many cases are in front of you for being sent out to PEBLOS. Last Monday I called, and they told me I should hear by the end of the week and I got my findings on Friday. For timeline, my case was accepted by PEB June 13 and VA case closed July 25th. QA was the longest part of the entire process.

Oh really????? Would you happen to have the number of the PEB?

I just got off the phone with MMSR 4. Here's the timeline: The day we sign our findings, they are sent back to the PEB for closeout. Once the PEB completes closeout (2-5 weeks), they forward the package to MMSR 4. MMSR 4 is able to complete and assign a new EAS date within 1-5 business days from receiving our package from the PEB. Additionally, he told me that separation with severance packages are always given a 15th date instead of 30th. He also said that once the new EAS populates in MOL (we will receive and MOL notification when this happens), we can request a different one if we do not like it. I'm going to try and get in touch with the PEB this week to see how their process is looking with closeouts. I'll keep you posted.
This info is great thank you!!

In this (approximate) timeline, how/where does terminal leave fit in? I have about 60 days and I'm trying to plan out my time. Case was submitted JUL 31, VA gave proposed ratings AUG 10. PEBLO says "waiting to decide fit/unfit"

According to the Marine at MMSR 4 I spoke with this morning, once they receive your package from the PEB, they base your EAS off of a calculation using the 20 days of PTAD plus whatever leave you have on the books. So, they account for you utilizing your leave for terminal.

Awesome, so it sounds like its better to keep accruing leave and not burn any while waiting for new EAS.

I just called mmsr-4 and they just said they don’t know could take 4-5 weeks usually but could be faster because I’m severance pay. I have never seen anyone get a date later than 2 weeks after signing so I don’t know where that came from…
Since we both are severance pay, our pay gets recoupment from DFAS and then our VA will kick in? I got 100% from the VA

No. Call your MSC for an in depth explanation. Long story short, the recoupment comes out of your disability monthly at the rate your DOD disability rating was. For example, I got 10% dod. They will take 10% rating compensation out of your monthly disability until they recoup your entire severance amount. THEY DO NOT TAKE 10% OF YOUR DISABILITY. THEY TAKE THE AMOUNT OF MONEY 10% DISABILITY IS OUT OF YOUR MONTHLY PAYMENT (roughly $150/month).

Hard to explain over text mildly intoxicated, but hopefully that helps. Lmao
