I need some serious help

I just got my purposal TRDL of 60% back from the Informal board. I don't know what to do..... Last March i was diagnosed with a brain tumor, last july i had surgery. I have had migraines for over 7 years. I had 3 months of recovery and after 2 months of work my MEB was put it Jan 10. Well at the time i was not 100% and i explained i was getting better, but now i am at 90% with a few minor hiccups and have been doing my job for the past 7 months with no issues. I was told i can fly out for the formal board and get advice from lawyer and have a waiver put in so i can make a decision there. I am very afraid for me and my family as i don't know how i will support them. Anyone have any advice?

What is your yos, branch? Hang in there someone will answer shortly.

i have been in the Air Force for 7 years and 6 months. I been working in my career field since Nov. 09 with no problems. yes i have headaches but nothing that keeps me from doing my job.

I don't know how i am suppose to support my wife and daughter with a mortgage with this decision. ughhhh.

Are you being MED BOARD? If so, you will have a chance to get retirement which can help you and family on the medical side. Are you 90% with the VA? If so, it should provide some income. Also, if you are 90% have you looked into the TDIU or IU with the VA which can bump you up to 100%. Also, you apply for SSD from Social Security which can bring in some extra income on top of the VA pay. I mean... you have options but its a matter of doing researh.

Another great website with great information for the VA side and Social Security is HADIT.COM. There tons of people who can provide you more information about IU, TDIU, and Social Security questions you may because these people have been through the process.

Hey man, a few things that may help you is just knowin that high of a rating, I believe you will get a very substantial check every month from the va.

You can also hit up school and collect the housing stipend. These plus what the other folks are saying will hopefully help pit your mind a little at ease.

I do not know my VA rating yet. I just found out last friday and i have the option to appeal this friday. I was told by Legal that i could gamble this away by appealing it. The reason they said that is because i am stating i am fit do work but still have a benign brain tumor.

When can i apply for VA review. Do i need seperation orders?

I have also had a few other things that have come up since my surgery. Eye twitching, Even more headaches, anxiety, thinking issues, short term memory, just to name a few. Should i make a Dr. appt and get this stuff noted.
