My Caregiver is becoming more stressed and pissed and wants to know how you appeal the caregiver tier. The previous one was on tier 2 and she is on 1. Not sure why they rater switched it when after it got bumped down the va later gave me another 100% for tbi w ptsd and gave me 100% crsc. I was already 100pt army and 100va for another issue. I do not not meet the adl scale but go above and beyond on the "SUPERVISION/PROTECTION SCALE " because of severe tbi & seizures.

How do we/she go about an appeal

Well, you need to first start or submit the appeal to the Caregiver Support Coordinator's Office at your local VAMC. Then, if denied, you will need to submit the appeal to the Director of your local VAMC.

If denied again, then you will need to submit your appeal to your local Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) Director for your particular DoVA area. Take care!

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer!"

Best Wishes!

Jared,

Is there some sort of form that explains the ADL and supervision/protection scales?
