I am a 1LT in the Army coming up on 3 yrs of service. I was recent referred to the IDES process from Pain Management and Neurology. I did my MEB brief and meet with my PEBLO. The packet will be sent off to the VA. My next will be call from the MSA to start the claims form. I know I was going to extend my contract so I had to submit the REFRAD atleast a year in Advance on ETS date. I submit my REFRAD May of 2024 with anticipated ETS date on May 19. 2025. The referral to IDES was August 28, 2024. I am just curious if that would have any impact on my MEB and what would you suggest. Any suggestion in this regard will be greatly appreciated.

I would stay on orders and not REFRAD. Not sure if the REFRAD could go through if in IDES. Chances are you will be on orders while going through MEB if you are currently on orders and are referred for a duty related issues. I am assuming you are guard or reserves.

I second staying on AD. That is the standard and probably your best option.
