So I got word they started a medboard for my hips... I can't cross my legs I have very littlexcited motion since having surgery has anyone had similar experiences ? what was your dod %? I'm nervous bc i want 30. but everyone says hips are 10 regardless.
It is all about range of motion. I have bilateral hip FAI, 20% but my rom on my back is less than 30 degrees flexion. That gave me the extra 10% needed for medical retirement.
I got out for my hips. bi lat issues will usually get you to the 20% mark. something else will have to push you to the 30%. Though what brad said was very true. I didn't fully understand what the doctor was asking during my exam so as soon as you go and they do the range of motion stuff. STOP moving as soon as you feel pain. I can barely cross my legs and all motion is painful but I got out 20% dod/90 VA. It could have easily been 30% because of the reduced range of motion I have. I just stopped at the point of greatest pain, not pain itself. If that makes any sense.
