Hi everyone,

I am currently 50℅ service connected for a non-mental condition. I was diagnosed with PTSD and depression by VA in October 2016, and Ive been in treatment since. I plan to file a claim next month. I need help on how to proceed or what to expect.

Any info or advice will help. Thanks

Welcome to the PEB Forum! :)

In my opinion, the easiest and fastest method to file a DoVA disability claim is via the eBenefits website at https://www.ebenefits.va.gov/ebenefits/homepage.

If you currently don't have an eBenefits account, you can register at the following webpage https://myaccess.dmdc.osd.mil/ident...JZwsOSb2kaB58A4-4TG!1531667449?execution=e1s1 for assistance.

Also, you should review the "General Rating Formula for Mental Disorders" within 38 CFR VASRD at the following URL http://www.ecfr.gov/cgi-bin/text-id...eb8&mc=true&node=sg38.1.4_1124a.sg13&rgn=div7 for any potential estimate of a DoVA disability rating. Take care!

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer!"

Best Wishes!
