Hello to everyone out there and thank you in advance for any info ya'll might have. My husband is TDRL for PTSD through the Marine Corps. He is coming up on his final evaluation. We got word yesterday that his VA doctor will write the final narrative for him, now we just need some guidelines for the format of this letter and also what needs to be included in this whole package. I have very little info from HQ and that was hard earned as I'm sure all of you have experienced that at some point! Anyone out there with any info as to this final process- please contact me. Thank you.

Your husband is on TDRL. So, a nexus letter is not necessary or helpful. That is a letter to establish service connection between disabilities and military service. The PEB already determined that his condition was incurred in the line of duty.

What you want is a thorough evaluation of your husband's condition. Here is a link to the VA Worksheet for PTSD: Physical Evaluation Board Forum - PEB Library - VA Clinician's Guide- PTSD with Worksheets

SECNAVINST 1850.4E has some additional guidance on what should be in a evaluation. However, the above link will cover everything necessary for rating purposes.

Hi Jason, thanks so much for that info. When my husband first starting going through this, he had to go to the board in Bethesda to appeal and fight the first informal board decision. His VA doc has little to no clue of this process and we don't even know which board this info goes to now, or anything like that. At this point, we're just trying to find out what the Marine Corps needs in this final review package for TDRL and any info that relates to this final process. I will definitely pass on word regarding the nexus letter and those forms. Thank you so much for your help!
