Help before I get kicked out!!!!!!

I have already received my unfit letter and my PEBLO tells me that my Packet its a D-RAS. I am an Officer and have been in for 14 years. I have PTSD and Agoraphobia so bad I cannot leave my house most days. My unit just had a Change of Command and my new BC is talking about kicking me out for not coming to work everyday. I need some contact numbers at D-RAS or some way to speed up the process so I can retire and not get chaptered.
Thanks

Is you B

Is yor Bh team supportive? You are in the MEB process already and he won't be able to kick you out unless he proves misconduct. Do you have a restrictive profile that allows you to stay home?

You are not going to speed up the VA. You can go and get a DAV and get them a power of attorney. That will get you better communication channels, but will not move things faster.

I would strongly suggest you get buy in from the BH team and have them interface with the BC. As long as he understands what is going on, I find it hard to believe he will go after you.

Sounds like the new guy is trying to flex his not so big muscles... Same points I would have brought up Joe.

Now I dont usually do this, but I am going to take a standpoint that alot might not agree with.

I understand your position and your issues; but retirement at 20 years and only 14 in is really asking ALOT from the force if you have agoraphobia. There are medical retention standards for a reason because the military works off of a needs basis. We all know this very well. As an officer, I know that manning, planning, and stratagy should come easy to you.

Asking the military to allow you to fill a slot without the ability to perform, work, or even show up is very selfish. The slot and assignment that you fill is unfillable. Now staying in the military consists of working a military job, and providing the military with your talents, intellegence and professional conduct. None of these can be achieved at home.

I am very sorry to hear about the agoraphobia, it is a very debilitating condition. But expecting the government to keep you, pay you, and retire you when you are unable to perform any action for them is downright selfish.

Your health is paramount! I would work with your BH department in managing your disabilities in a way that can be beneficial for both you and the military. That way, you still get to serve, and the military gets to utilize your skills.

In the end, I find it selfish and egotistical to expect to retain a position or job without performing that job. 7 Years of Active Duty benefits, pay, honor, and support without putting on the uniform is close to fraud.

I wish your recovery, future, and carreer well! Best of luck!

I don't think he was saying he wanted to do 20yrs moneyblind. He is just ready to be medically retired is what I gather.

He is already in the IDES system and has been found unfit. He is not trying to stay in, he is just concerned the BC will attempt chapter before he finishes. His primary issue is PTSD with agoraphobia.

Wow, that was a complete misread and i Apologize! I read it as he was trying to stay in until the 20 years mark.

I will accept full responsibility for that, and I apologize! In that case, Joe(Ranger) and Grizz are right! ( I was wondering why They were taking that approach)

The only thing I would add to the above advice is that you don't seem medically stable at all, and getting in for a frank discussion with your providers on how to improve treatment and functioning is IMHO, absolutely necessary. There should be no need to suffer as badly as you are, there may be more treatment options to be explored. Best of luck. Bob

I see you misunderstood the conversation, this is a good point though to bring up at a later time for someone else's situations, but I would have been a right along with you if that was the case!

Welcome to the PEB Forum! :)

In my opinion, the bottom line is in a positive proactively manner as feasible as possible, continue all of your behavioral healthcare treatment so that your mental state doesn't bottom out as such requiring immediate inpatient behavioral healthcare at the nearest Tricare-approved facility! ;)

Thus, I quite often comment that "possessing well-informed knowledge is truly a powerful equalizer."

Best Wishes!
