Good Afternoon!
I'm facing a fairly unique (at least, I believe I am!) circumstance. I injured my ACL on T39 of Recruit Training down on MCRD PI, spent 10 months on the Island trying to recover/beginning an LDES MEB/PEB, and was then eventually sent home to await the findings of my PEB.
I just received my IPEB results on 04MAY2023 (unfit/10%) with the letter saying the board convened on 21FEB2023. I then set up a meeting with my PEBLO/Attorney to discuss the results. Based on the knowledge I was given, I know that I can contest the IPEB and advocate for a higher DoD %. Knowing this, I was able to get some civilian side medical documents saying that my condition is likely worse than what the PEB rated (mostly because they didn't repair my ACL down on the MCRD for whatever reason, so it has been getting worse and worse pain/mobility wise for about a year).
Now here's where I'm humbly requesting some guidance-
1) Does it matter that I got my IPEB results 2~ months after the board's decision? Will this affect my ability to request a FPEB?
2) Is an FPEB even worth it?
3) What questions/evidence should I bring to the call with my PEBLO/attorney?
4) The last line on my IPEB says the "Overall VA rating is 10%"- I thought the LDES only does DoD-side ratings, is this referring to something else?
It's a long read but I wasn't able to freely meet/do much self-advocating with my PEBLO/Attorney down on PI so I'm a bit lost in some regards. I appreciate this form and everyone on it, however, so thank you all!
