Hello Everyone! Happy holidays!
I would like to share my story and receive tips, recommendations, and advice!
background about me: I'm a healthy male in my 30'S joined the Army less than a year ago.
my Injury: during AIT I slipped down the stairs and received a mild head trauma and mild trauma to my back. I went to the hospital and all I remember is that I started to feel weird sensation to the left side of my body. ever since I've been on a profile basically almost 5 months from now. ever since I'm the same I was. my mental, physical and cognitive health went down dramatically. in the past 3 months, I arrived in Germany and I've been on profile in and out of hospital trying to figure out what's wrong with me.
finally, the neurologist on post noted that my left cerebellar is small, I was born with it but was able to live a normal life (complete marathons pt 300+, complete masters degree etc) but the TBI uncovered all of this symptom I'm experiencing right now.
Symptoms: spasticity, hyperflexion numbness, and weakness in the left side of the body, back pain abnormal gait. vertigo attacks every other day lasting for hours mild hearing loss left ear and tinnitus there is more but you get the idea.
in addition, i have been diagnosed with Meniere disease (whatever its called) a few days ago after I lost balance and couldn't walk for few hours.
I just got my P3 profile a few days ago and about to start the process to leave the army
My questions are:
1) what is it gonna like ? the whole process
2) what further test will I do with the VA and DOD? ( I hate needles!)
3 will the army help me out? or because I only been in the army 10 months the army will try to get me out without further taking care of my health and not compensate me?
Anybody that can share and help i would like to know! thank you may god bless you all!
