Good afternoon! I am an Army vet, I just found this board and I have a couple of questions. I am going to post a couple of emails to help explain as I go. I filed a DD 294 that was received in April of 14 by the PDBR (Air Force Folks) I did the customary "4 month check backs" until late 2016 when I got this email

Sir
The recommendation of the PDBR was forwarded to the Secretary of the Army's Designated Decision authority on 11 November 2016. Once a decision has been made in your case, you will be promptly notified. In accordance with DoD Instruction 6040.44, the Secretary must render a final decision within 45 days of receipt of such recommendation and notify covered individuals within 10 days of such decisions.

Unfortunately, we have no control, or method to track the status of your case further once the Army receives it. We ask for your continued patience as the Army DDA works to finalize your case.

Physical Disability Board of Review

So I track down the
Customer Service Representative/vac
Army Review Boards Agency
251 18th Street South, Suite 385
Arlington VA 22202

And they say they don't have a packet for me? Did I check with the right agency? Does it take that long to forward a packet? For all you folks that are mission complete on this, where am I in the process?

It seems like I should here something very soon but I am not so sure based on the feedback I am getting?

Any recommendations?
Thanks
Joe

They won't show a packet has been received until everything has been completed by the Army and sent back to them. Then it is put in their system.

The 45 day timeline is obsolete. The Army comes no where near meeting that deadline. My packet was sent in December of 2015 and the Army signed off on it in the end of February 2016. So that part is getting close. Then depending on the decision other things happen.

Has your address changed since you filed?

My address did change in Dec of 15, I did contact the Air Force folks and update that information and they confirmed that it had been updated.

Whereas your packet was sent in Dec of 15 and signed off on in Feb of 16 (2 months +-) mine was sent to the Army in Nov of 16 and the Army says they have not received it. That's the part that is concerning to me. 59 days counting today. Working 2 years total time in the system

Thanks for your reply by the way!

But like I said, they do not input it in the system until a decision has been reached. So they won't see it.

I won my PDBR case and after my decision was reached in February I did not "receive" notification until June. But that notification was sent to the wrong address, an address that was supposed to have been updated, so I didn't know a decision had been reached until July when they uploaded new cases to the PDBR website and mine was there.

I would call them the first week of February and ask them if your case is in the system yet.

Interesting...I just got the same email today minus the date in November.

I've had my case going since March 2015

I misread your reply the first time. This makes a lot more sense now. Thanks!

I wonder what there process is? Let me know if you hear anything. I will post when I hear something as well.

I got that response after emailing them in November. I was able to get in contact with Al today and was informed that I was retired. My case number is 2014043xx. Also, although I updated my address via email, it still wasn't updated with Al, so he made that correction.

Congratulations on your retirement!

Awesome!

2014-014XX and still nothing....I've never received correspondence stating my case had move to the Army, I had to email intake in Sept 2016 to find out it had advanced to the Army in May of 2016. I called Al today and he said he recognized my name. After a quick search of his database he came up empty handed. SO................who knows where this thing is in the process.

I am about ready to get a congressman involved. This is stupid and unacceptable that these packets are being sent from one organization to another and for months and/or years no one knows where it is. Sounds like yours is a bigger mess than mine.
