Initiated MEB back in October 2011 and I'm currently waiting on 199. My packet was sent back to the PEB from the VA on 15 June, but I still haven't heard anything. As usual, Ft Bliss is leading the way in taking forever to clear it's MEB people. blah
 
Fort Bliss has nothing to do with how fast your PEB comes back, no single post has the ability to make the PEB work faster. I know one active case at my post right now that has been at the PEB in washington state for 120 days. Right now expected turn around is at least four months
 
I understand that Ft Bliss has nothing to do with it, but this place continues to seem like a black hole. PEBLO says he has a little over 80 cases since September and only 2 have been completed. I understand the process fully, but I don't understand why it takes over a month for the disposition of one unfit condition for the Army. For the most part it's the lack of information provided from all sides, (minus my VA rep who is very good at info), that irritates people the most. I am grateful that my case moved on faster than most and that I wasn't stuck in legacy system, but still it gets quite frustrating sitting around in a Combat Arms unit that is getting ready to deploy. Depressing and oddly annoying at the same time.

Fort Bliss must have SOMETHING to do with it because, last week, an Inspector General came to Ft. Bliss as ordered by the Secy of Defense and interviewed a whole bunch of people going through the MEB process. He explained that there have been so many complaints and issues coming out of Ft. bliss that they are now doing a full IG inspection of the whole process here.

gratx bro im waiting on my unfit memo so many horror stories at least my peblo is pretty good and sends me an email every 2 weeks. i cant wait to get out of el paso!!!!
 
Grats Matt...I hope it doesn't take as long for me after I sign my NARSUM but I'm not counting on it.
 
Hey fellow Fort Bliss MEB here, my MEB was initiated in Nov 2011 and I still haven't even signed my NARSUM yet. So yes Fort Bliss is a black hole for MEBs. My unit deployed and redeployed and I am still waiting
 
I'm sorry to hear that Josh. I was waiting for so damn long after my VA appointments that I thought they had lost my paperwork. @ SGT Bob and FLEX, Thank you. It's a good feeling, but in the same instance you feel kind of lost. I got told I can't move onto anything until TRANSPOC and APD sign off on paperwork. PEBLO said it could take a week .... or a month. Make sure to double check your VA portion as they show you a proposed rating and dollar amount. My wife wasn't added onto it so I had to submit more paperwork to add her, but my son was oddly enough included in my pay.

**UPDATE**

Separation Memo was completed two days after signing 199. Headed over to BLDG 500 room 108.... oddly enough an old friend works in their now so I found my inside person. Terminal leave starts 18 Sept and ends on 16 Nov. Awaiting official orders to publish. MTF

Transportation brief on 5 Sept.... Final out on 17 Sept... Terminal leave starts 18 Sept-16 Nov.... placed on pdrl on 17 Nov.
 
That's not a bad timeline at all, ~10 months total from referral to signing out on terminal leave. Hopefully we can all look forward to this kind of timeline.
