You will need supporting statements from your chain of command indicating they would like you to be found fit. Sometimes, if your unit indicates a significant interest in maintaining you, that is sufficient. If you don't have command support, that is problematic. y Ideally, you would also have a statement from your physician that you are worldwide assignable and that you do not require routine medical treatment or hospitalizations. Often times in diabetes cases, it can be helpful to explain why the treatment for diabetes is not limiting (meds don't require refrigeration/monitoring can be done in any environment).
The biggest issue that you will face is that the new DoD guidance states everyone must be worldwide assignable.
