Fort Lewis PEB

Last week my PEBLO told me they started my informal 199. So either this week or next week I hope to see something. If it is electronic why would it still take so long.

The last that I heard there are 500 other people also waiting for the same document, and a limited number of people doing specific work (one person types them all). Each document has to be double-checked and then the President of the PEB does a third (or fourth) review. The last I heard, the JLBM PEB is expecting a non-expidited 199 to take 6 - 8 weeks to type up and sign (Depending on complexity of the the case).

Mine took a month and half. I got notification today its done. They emailed it to me, yes they are electronic so looks like they were waiting for the reviewer to come back off leave.

Congrats! Thanks for your service.

I intend to try COAD if I need to, but because of this Fn QMP I do not know if I can. As I said I was found unfit before any QMP notification so I dont know if it will even go forward. As I reed the MilPer MSG it is supposed to not happen if found unfit by the PEB. If my 4187 isnt up to HRC by the 24th I am going to do an Art 138 on the Bn CMDR. I am tryn to have faith that the PEB and Army will do right by me. Like I said if not I am going to do everything legel to make sure EVRYBODY know how I was treated, and also this isnt just about me its about all the other soldiers going through the same type things.

You'd get faster results doing the IRIS inquiry on the va.gov site, but if you wanna wait on the PEBLO... Your choice!;)

I sent the inquiry about the "waiting for evidence" on ebenifits that never changed and this was the VA's response:

We reviewed your electronic records and determined, that at this time we are not waiting for evidence to support your claim. We apologize that ebenefits is not being updated in a timely manner and we do not have the manpower to keep it updated as you are going through each phase of the process. We are undermanned and strive to keep up with the huge workload we have and given the current backlog, ebenefits is not one of our priorities. You can check the status of your packet if you find the wait is longer than expected by calling or submitting another inquiry for the status.

Thank you for contacting us. If you have questions or need additional help with the information in our reply, please respond to this message or see our other contact information below.

Sincerely yours,

There are three great lies:
- Statistics
- Damn Statistics
- and anything on E-Benifits

It causes more people unneeded confusion (like there is some needed confusion?) than it gives actual information. VSO's are much more useful and know more about the VA than most VA employees know about the IDES system.

Yea that's true but I think some soldiers rather look online @ ebenefits rather than picking of the phone and calling the 1800 #, yea there are some that are not up on the IDES but a majority of them are and can explain to you everything they see in the notes the VA has one you and a lot of people don't know that your PEBLO can see the same VA notes a VSO can, it's just that some PEBLO's will inform you they can and some won't, but u gotta think PEBLO's has a lot of cases and a lot of impatient soldiers that would call every single day looking for a update instead going off averages and calling when estimate dates have passed

Who has time to call the hotline and waste an hour of time at minimum every day??? Ebennies would be the better way to go... Take some of the people off the phone service and have them update ebennies instead... Simple solution in my opinion... Most of the people on the phone can't see anything worthwhile for Soldiers anyways...

its called calling directly @ 0800am est or before they phone lines shut down 0800pm be and you wont wait longer than 5 minutes, and they are not the ones that update ebenefits, its the RO where your claim is handled that updates the system,

And you have to think of thousands and thousands of soldiers that are in IDES and there are only three offices that handle claims, and then on top of that even more few hundred thousand vets thats been waiting for years to have their claims completed so of course the phone lines will be backed up and the ebenefits will be slow

Lol I know, I wasn't argueing. I was agreeing with the statement, but just with an idea on my part.;)

I just spoke with the VA on the phone at the 1800 number. The rep told me "You're claim is in the final stages of the process, it is all done just waiting to be mailed to you" I asked him if he can PHYSICALLY SEE MY %'s on the screen. He told me "Yes, they are there, but I am not allowed to tell you over the phone". My question is... WHY THE HECK HASNT THE PEB gotten these %'s... what is taking so long, this is crazy.

Your Peblo can tell you what your rating are while you wait for the 199, well mines did anyway, I've known my ratings since dec 31 but still no 199, hoping its ready next week, my house should be done getting built next month and I thought my timing was going to be perfect but the way it looks I'm wrong, still a little hope

I just called my PEBLO....she said they are not allowed to tell me anything until the whole packet army and va ratings are in? She didn't seem to just look on ePEB to see if the Army has the VA ratings. Lack of communication...very annoying. I didn't even bother telling her that other PEBLOs are giving ratings to people.

Or do you think the PEB hasn't "received" my ratings yet? VA said ratings were complete 2 Dec. but awaiting approval.

they don't need to be at the PEB for the peblo to see them, most can get into the VA system, if they say waiting approval they either are waiting for the VA rater supervisor to sign off on it and send it to PEB, I know it's all confusing when you don't have a cool PEBLO

With my claim, they made prelim ratings on nov 6 but my i didn't have my proposed ratings till dec 31

This is why I highly recommend signing a power of attorney with a Veteran's Service Org. (DAV, VFW, FL...) They have nothing from stopping them from helping out SMs and Veterans that have questions about the VA processes.
