Elaborate a little bit more on why we shouldn’t attach a name to the numbers that are given, and by what right or authority you have to say it’s wrong for us to do so? I am curious as to how the phone call would go. Hello this is such and such I got your number from the PEBFORUM and was wondering if you are the OMBUDSMAN for such and such place. As a person that works at a place “really close” to a MEB station I know it is really off-putting when someone calls me and has no idea what my name is or even if they are calling the right place. Also every single name and number I have given out is on the web for anyone to see or paperwork handed out by the MEB. Unfortunately for some people it gets lost and navigating the web is not as easy for them as it may be for others so, for the sake of helping the SMs out (which the site is for) I happily share any and all information that is readily available (No Rules Broken or HIPPA Violations There). If these people did not want to be contacted believe me they would remove their numbers from the web page or have their front desk personnel number as their number to screen people through (I know a few people who have done just that). Until I see the admin for this page give us a thumbs down on helping each other out with numbers I like I am sure many on here will keep driving on. The Admin on this site are great at what they do so let them do it!
Ok shel81, do not ask me if i have authority, again, i am just saying a recommendation, do as you feel. I am only saying a phone number is good enough. I didnt say anything about HIPPA so dont get bent out of shape, that is why this is a forum. I am not telling you not to it, but if you were in their shoes, you would not want your name blasted on the forum especially on something the whole world can see. When you go and search for an OMBUDSMAN on the medcom site, they do not list their names there either, so again use your own judgement
PEBLO gave me memo from PEB board finding of unfit. Does anyone have idea how long to get DA199 from PEB board Fort Lewis after VA sends them ratings? Also I agree with not giving out names (OPSEC) but that is my opinion. Those who need to know the info can search for it, even though it may be public information does not mean it should be advertised. Why don't people use their real names on here or in the post directory you can always find the title of office and phone number but not the name I.E Post commander, Battalion CSM etc. , just food for thought.
Pretty much my point opsec... We are always trained on this in the military to not share private information out.but do not want to get into a debate over it. I was only making a recommendation.
Good news, called the Patient Advocacy chief again today he looked in computer system again for me and it went to the VA for ratings on the 13th and appearantly preliminary ratings were done already... dont believe that but gonna call anyways
Actaully too easy to find out the info it's called google and every army post website has their full name posted all over the front page...
Here is my timeline here at Fort Lewis:
Jan '12: PA checked needs medboard, changed a bunch of 2's to 3's on PUHLES.
14 Mar '12: Had the initial meeting with PEBLO
19 Mar '12: Had appointment with MED Board Doctor with initial physical/assessment
13 Jun '12: Visit PEBLO to find a sign on their door being tasked until 03 August. Go to the PEBLO's at the hospital, they look up their system and can't find any status' on myself. PEBLO says the doctor probably forgot about it, and misplaced the paperwork. She apologized and said it doesn't usually happen, but thanks for my notifying her as I would of just been stuck in the cracks until then. I asked if I should come back and check to see if I was back in the system, she said most definitely come back in a few days to verify everything was on track, and thanks me for being patient.
15 Jun '12: Look on AKO at My MEB/PEB, and the page finally populates with "Date of Physician's Notification of MEB Action as of 14 Jun '12.
18 Jun '12: Visit PEBLO for follow up as requested. Got seen by a different PEBLO who says paperwork doesn't get lost and claims I more then likely forgot to do something or missed an appointment, then goes off by saying I shouldn't be making up information since they are currently handling over 4,000 cases, then proceeds to ask if I got this information from online forums or who else, since everyone's case is unique and its just part of the process... At this point I turned about 45 degrees left in the chair and point to the PEBLO next to her, as she turned around and greeted me again talking about how nice it was outside...
Interesting enough how two different PEBLO's can interpret things, and I know better then to get angry or upset with the people directly affecting my paperwork, and just like to smile and nod, and update the information that I have.
20 Jun '12: Got a call today setting up an appointment for Counselling with a doctor scheduled for 22 Jun '12. Glad to see I am at least back in the process.

I want to start off by saying this first PEBLO that you talked to gave it to you straight. If at all possible see that one when you go in because that one was honest. The second PEBLO you talked to was in CYA mode, more than likely from the complaints that they have been getting about lost paperwork. The MEB in Madigan loses paperwork constantly that not an opinion its fact. Like anywhere else stuff sits on desks or in cabinets mistakes happen a simple sorry it happened to you we will try better would be nice like the first PEBLO said would be fine. The second PEBLO pretty much called you a liar and tried to place the blame on you SMH. The Madigan MEB bad egg strikes again. My Commanders letter was lost and when I brought up it was missing out of my packet I was told I didn’t turn it in odd I know. There are constant examples of this on the forum. Their fall back is to blame you. Keep a copy of every single thing they give you and if you have to go over something with them there ask for a copy before you leave the office. Keep a record of who gave you what and when because if that PEBLO isn’t there next time the one you talk to can easily say it was never do and if you don’t have a name for the person that did it they can say it didn’t happen. Have you made your way over to the soldiers counsel across from the gym by Old Madigan? If not you should go make an appointment since you are just now starting the process they can help you out with a little more info. They also help with appeals and other things like representing you at formal boards. I am sure they (Madigan MEB) are hearing about the forums like this one I think that’s awesome now they know we have some where to share info about them and keep them on their toes. Talked to one of the Peblo's today... My packet has been at the PEB for about 36 days, and on an excel spreadsheet sent down from the PEB I saw the phrase " Vote 2" next to my name. I recall reading about people's results that mentioned 3 votes, I'm guessing the 3 votes are the 3 decision makers and I'm waiting on the second? Anyone have more knowledge?
Update for those wondering current timelines... I was found unfit and package recieved by VA 35 days after being sent. It took 4 days for ebenefits to update in my case.
On a side note, does anyone have any timelines for Auburn VA?

Last week i finaly got a call from the peblo office, they told me my case was at vote number 3, so now i am really confused cause I thought I would be notified when I was found unfit. I still do not see anything on my MEB/PEB showing I am in the PEB process. The peblo mentioned i should be seeing a 199 in a few more weeks. Not sure where i stand anymore. My VA Rep told me they didnt get anything yet. Before she told me that they got back from the VA already. Still in the guessing stage.
4syth1 you were seen as unfit the same day as I. My information was "recieved" by the PEB in June and just got my claim closed by the VA ebenefits so I am hoping to get my 199 soon...im concurring regardless of the findings so I am hoping I get out soon, I have a school date in september so...

VA at Auburn falls under the Seattle Rating program. They are at about 30 or less days currently, and getting better!
Found out that the VA shoved my packet to the top of the list and reviewed, rated it, and sent back to PEB by e-mail in less than 24 hours! Recieved on 13 Jun and sent back 14 Jun! Now gotta wait for the PEB and PEBLO's to contact me...
I had a similar timeframe myself, however you are about a week ahead of me. Believe it took a day or two for ratings and now supposedly at the PEB. Hopefully this is a sign for those following after us. Hope though that they did not forsake accuracy for speediness.
I don't understand why it takes a month for PEB to recieve the percentages from VA since they are less then a hour apart and they are sent digitally now.
Because it sits in the system until they get to it, since there are so many people going through the PEB here on Lewis the back-log is insane. Just the way it goes here, sorry
