Hey folks... I meant to do this a while back but forgot.

I am a USAR AGR Soldier, SFC w/ 11.5 years of total service, 8 years of active duty (3 years active component, 3 years deployed, 2 as an AGR).

I PCSd to the Fort Drum WTU for a mTBI suffered in 2008 w/ severe prostrating migraines, as well as PTSD, which was already rated by the VA in 2005 @ 10% (it's gotten worse). I'm currently in Remote Care (new version of the CBWTU).

I AM in the DES PILOT PROGRAM.

October 4, 2010 - Notified of MEB
October 12, 2010 - Labs drawn for MEB
October 19, 2010 - Meet w/ MEB doctor, start of NARSUM, and basic Army physical exam
October 28, 2010 - Initial meeting w/ PEBLO
November 11, 2010 - VA General Medicine appt
November 15, 2010 - VA hearing exam
December 7, 2010 - VA psych exam
March 2, 2011 - NARSUM complete. Met w/ PEBLO.
March 3, 2011 - Signed NARSUM
March 4, 2011 - MEB/NARSUM sent to Walter Reed/NARMC for PEB
June 9, 2011 - Contacted by PEBLO. Found UNFIT by PEB for PTSD, Major Depressive Disorder-Recurrent, Moderate, and migraines (secondary to mTBI... long story, but I had migraines before the TBI. The TBI just made them unbearably bad). Letter from PEB is dated 1 June 2011. Told by PEBLO that the last 5 cases she had came back from the VA with ratings within 10 days. Fingers are crossed.

As of May 20, 2011, I still have NOT heard back from the PEB. The VA eBenefit site lists my case as in the "Decision Phase", which is where it has been since March 7, 2011. ***** As stated in the timeline, I got my memorandum from the PEB on 9 June 2011. The VA eBenefits site still lists my case as "Decision Phase".

I'm kind of shocked that I haven't gotten my initial DA199 (Fit/Unfit) back yet. I was under the impression that these usually came back rather quickly. Has anybody else run into this sort of timeline with their IPEB at Walter Reed?

Hi my board was forwarded to Walter Reed on the 8 MAR 11 and I got my unfit back on the 12 May 11 thn my packet went fromt he Devolpement Phase on the VA website to Decision Phase so I expecting a rating decision back with in the next 60 days.

****** Another Update *******

I was contacted by the Baltimore VA and asked if I had any additional documents to add to my file. Since I didn't, the young lady said that my file was going to be rated this week and that I would have a letter from the VA by next week. For some reason, I believe her. I'm curious how long from this point until I get my 199 back from the Army.....

August 4, 2011 - Received DA 199. 100% PTSD, 30% migraines, 10% tinnitus, 10% right shoulder impingement. TDRL.
August 5, 2011 - Signed & returned DA 199 at 0900.

I can't tell you how much this site has helped to guide me. I may not have been the most active guy in the blogs/forums, but I've trolled around enough to learn. With all of the information out there, it can be tough to decipher what is real and what is bull. I've always felt comfortable coming here to learn and/or ask questions. (As evidenced w/ 100% for PTSD, I kind of struggle with actual interactions. This site makes it more user friendly for us "crazies".)

It's good to know that we helped. That's the whole point so hearing that is good feedback. And your posting of your timeline and experience is helpful for others to see, too.

Hopefully, the TDRL piece goes smoothly, too. Check back in when you are getting near to your re-eval (or sooner, just to say hello).
 
An added note: I was called yesterday and have to report to Fort Drum next week to get my retirement orders and sign my DD 214. The light at the end of the tunnel approaches.....
