"Fit" for AD USAF, "Disqualified" from USAFR

Hello everyone,

Late last year I was found Fit for Active Duty Air Force by the IRILO at AFPC. Afterwards I decided to pursue Palace Chase/Palace Front to swap to the reserve and finish out my time there. However, due to my medical condition, I required approval from the Air Force Reserve Surgeon General prior to applying. I just got notified that I was "Disqualified" from assignment in the USAFR due to my medical condition.

If anyone can help provide guidance on my below questions I would greatly appreciate it:
1. How am I fit for AD but not qualified for USAFR?
2. Does this mean there was a mistake or incorrect ruling by AFPC regarding my initial MEB?
3. Does this give me a standing to appeal the ruling on my MEB?

Wow that seems strange! I would ask some of IDES attorneys on this forum such as Jason Perry, John B Gately, Joel Petti etc.

Keep that paperwork as that might help bolster your case if you need corrective action later on via Board of Correction and Reviews.

Thank you for the quick response. I'll reach out to the people you mentioned.
