Finalize rating / payment

Med retired out of the Army on 28 April 2024. 10 years of service

VA proposed rating of 100% and DoD rating of 90%

How soon should I receive my finalized rating?
- Dd214 was submitted by Peblo on March while I was on terminal leave and I also uploaded copy myself (paranoid)

Also I’ve been hearing that DoD will pay up until I receive my VA payments? Is that true ?

Hello,

Your VA comp will begin to accrue 1 May 2024 and the first payment (for 1-31 May) probably could be received on/about 1 June 2024.

If not received as I described, your disability retired pay would be paid without a dollar for dollar offset of the VA comp amount.

The payments above are predicated on the timing of the processes.

Thank you for information! I checked the VA tracker and it’s on “evidence gathering review & decision” phase.

So the DoD will pay me at the 90% or what my VA rating is ?

Hello,

The VA makes VA compensation payments.

The DFAS makes retired pay payments (except for USCG).

The timing of the full processing completion of both entitlements is going to determine what category of pay/compensation you wii receive AND when.

DFAS makes DoD payments in military retirement cases like yours .
