Hey I am just posting this to let someone besides my wife know my frustration. The Marine Corps pay is more than the veterans compensation pay so I know I would get some money back.
Retro-Active retired going back to 2003.
June 2012 received paper work from the headquarters of Marines.
August 1st 2012 Cpl. Sanford said he received my paper work. I was told it might take a few months.
DFAS still has not figured out my pay or created an account for me. I call DFAS and the phone operator will say give them 30 days and person at DFAS a few weeks ago says it should take a year
. Last 6 months I have called the head quarters of the Marines trying to figure out some kind of a timeline. First 2 months of me calling someone takes my contact information down and I never get a call back. I finally got a hold of a Gary Richardson seems like he is the one in charge, however impossible to get a hold of him. I did speak to him a few months ago and he said he was going to take steps and to give him a call back in a week. I have called 5-10 different times in the last 2 months and Mr. Richardson is always out of the office/ in a meeting/ or with a Marine. I leave a message with the person on the phone for Mr. Richardson to give me a call back for any kind of an update and I never get a call.
So is this normal and I just need to wait? Or do I need to try to stay on top of this? I am not sure even who really knows whats going on.
