If my Ebenefits claim currently shows a status of pending decision approval, how long would the process take to get to the complete step?

It took 6 weeks for mine to move from Pending Decision approval to me hearing something. There are many timelines posted in the timeline area and the timing varies considerably.

How long ago was that for you? How long did it take for you to get the letter of release?

Very recently, I am awaiting retirement orders.

That's great news. I was told it could take anywhere from 1-4 weeks to get the letter of release back and then I would proceed to transitions for the orders. Is that timeframe correct to get the letter of release?

My claim has been at 'pending decision approval' since 14 Jul 2014. I PDRL retired on 28 Oct and still waiting for them to finalize it. I'm not expecting any changes until after the holidays, obviously, but how can it take so long to just have someone sign off on it and mail it out? Ugh.

mine never moved from gathering of evidence i wouldnt put much stock in Ebennies. I just signed my 199 they told me 2-4 weeks for orders

FYI: VA just finalized my IDES claim today. 78 days after retirement. Claim was in 'pending decision approval' stage for 6 months. I'm guessing this is pretty much the norm.

Maybe someone can help me out. I've been waiting for an answer on my ratings since late August of 2014. Up until mid December my eBenefits status remained gathering evidence. 16 December it changed to Pending Decision Approval. Fast forward to 14 January 2015, my status went to Preparation For Decision and as of 26 January has moved back to Gathering Evidence. I'm seriously getting frustrated with this whole process. The only answer I get to anything is "We've received nothing back." OR "I don't know what's taking so long." WHERE CAN I GO TO GET A SIMPLE STRAIGHT ANSWER ON WHAT IS GOING ON?

REFERRED TO IDES: 26 JUN 14
COMPLETED MEB: 15 AUG 14
IPEB UNFIT: 21 AUG 14
VA RATING PHASE: 21 AUG 14

221 days in the process as of today.

Sounds like the person with approval authority caught something and sent it back to get more evidence, presuming that it was missing something...
I would contact a VSO to see if he/she can find out what evidence they still need. If they need you to do something, they should be contacting you via mail.
I'm not an expert, but that's my best guess.

I hope there's nothing missing. As far as I know, everything has been sent up to them.
