Maybe I don't get it, there are DOD ratings and VA ratings. I AM NOT looking for VA ratings, what is the DOD ratings stage 4 colon cancer with an LOD?

In the IDES system, the VA supplies the ratings that are applied by the DoD to each unfitting condition...so, you are still looking for what the VA ratings are.

Here are the most likely relevant rating criteria:

"7343 Malignant neoplasms of the digestive system, exclusive of skin growths................... 100

Note: A rating of 100 percent shall continue beyond the cessation of any surgical, X-ray, antineoplastic chemotherapy or other therapeutic procedure. Six months after discontinuance of such treatment, the appropriate disability rating shall be determined by mandatory VA examination. Any change in evaluation based upon that or any subsequent examination shall be subject to the provisions of §3.105(e) of this chapter. If there has been no local recurrence or metastasis, rate on residuals."

Thanks Jason, I know you are busy. I didn't think the DOD re-evaluated, I knew the VA would. I filed an intent to claim already, just getting my ducks is a row. I don't even have my LOD yet, that is being sent off tomorrow to the powers that be in the AF. The docs did a good job trying to connect it to active duty 4 years ago, but you never know how it comes back I guess.
