I need someone to help me as I'm losing my mind.
Okay, first of all, I was rated by DoD 0% and the VA 80%. I was in the AF for 8 years, 4 months and was medically discharged as an E-5 (SSgt). Oh and I separated 10/28/15. After a month and some change, I didn't receive my final paycheck or severance pay but my LES said I was receiving $16K which was weird to me because before taxes I calculated I was supposed to receive $47K, so I contacted my losing Finance. The A1C told me that she originally submitted for the $16K but DFAS kicked it back and said she needed to reinput for $15K so I told her that was incorrect and stated about the $47K, when a person is medically discharged, they're supposed to receive base pay 2X and times the years in service (8).
So, she submitted a CMS case and promptly ignored me for 2 months! Finally this Monday, I get an email from the SSgt at Finance saying AFPC orginially inputted the wrong SPD code and that's why I got paid as little as I did. He basically said, they did their part and paid me in full, so I needed to call AFPC about the code. Now, this sounded super suspicious to me as my SPD code has always been the same from August-October, it says my SPD on my separation orders and my DD214. If it used to be wrong, wouldn't they sent me a corrected form? Anyways, I believed Finance, called AFPC, they told me what I've suspected, the code always been correct (my code by the way was JEB and I separated honorably) and I needed to call Finance again because they're the ones who calculate how much money I should have gotten.
By the way, I also called DFAS about everything, DFAS military pay said they see a debt in my account and forwarded me to DFAS debt management and the debt people looked at my military account and out of military account, the only debt they seen was 1 CENT.
I'm just losing my mind over here. I've sent another email to Finance and going to call them in the am because they're in England, I'm stateside but....idk what I need to do. I know for a fact that I should have received $47K before taxes, I've separated with 8 years of honorable service, my SPD code is correct and always have been, and I owe DFAS nothing but 1 cent!!
Has anyone run into this problem? If so what did you do to get it fixed? What should I do? HELP ME!!
