Did I Screw Up?

My anxiety about being unemployed got the best of me and I started applying for jobs. I made it clear I wasn’t available until April/May of this year. I was found unfit on Jan 20 and am in the case assembly phase. However, I interviewed and got a job offer with an amazing company with amazing pay with a start date the first week in May. My PEBLO swears up and down my process will be complete by then, but I have this icky feeling that it won’t and I just screwed up by getting this job offer and I’m going to miss out on it.
I’m active duty navy.. my PEBLO also said there’s no such thing as submitting an expedite request to the PEB with a job offer so my plan is to submit my job offer to PERS if I get orders soonish for an earlier retirement date. I’m complete with VA ratings already.
Any advice or peace of mind to offer?

Not a good thing for mental health. Just assume you won't get the job and if you get out in time to start the new job count yourself lucky. This is the reason I tell people to wait until orders in hand. Job hunting even with good results like an offer is just another big stressor during IDES. You have little control over the process and I have seen Soldiers concur to get out quicker instead of appealing and they later regretted that decision. If you have a job waiting that could sway you to concur when you should appeal which can be detrimental to your long term financial situation.

Yeah that makes sense.. all of my process has gone in my favor so I don’t intend to do a FPEB or appeal anything.. just hoping this works out I guess. Thanks for the response.

Man my PEBLO said she can’t tell if I was found fit or not. Based on my VA ratings and my referred conditions I know I will be found unfit but it would be nice to get updates rather than getting told that she doesn't get updates and that she only gets notification when findings come back. My case was sent to the PEB December 9th, and my PEBLO did tell me (after I asked) that the DoD started working on my ratings on the 8th of January my VA findings were competed prior to my package being sent to the PEB. I was accepted into a college and asked if I could get my case expedited but was told no. I asked if it could be expedited for my combat wounds and was told no. All good tho, everything happens for a reason. It I would be lying if I’m not anxious every day waiting cause I feel like my time can be used in better ways. Keep your head up and if it’s meant to be it will be! When was your case submitted to the PEB?

It was submitted Jan 9 and started Jan 12. My DES attorney has been the one to give me all the answers! He’s been super helpful.
