I was medically retired from the ANG with (O-4) ((prior E))
Service for Basic Pay 24 yrs 5 mth 23 days
Active Service for Retirement 18 yrs 0 mths 2 days
Service per 10 U.S.C. 12733 19.97 (7192 points)
40% on the retirement order
90% awarded by the VA. (already getting a check)

Just got off the phone with DFAS, and was checking on my retirement check, and they said I did not meet concurrent receipt CCR, rules, and I would only get the greater of the 2. VA or Retirement not both. I already signed up for Tricare Prime, etc. Got my blue retirement Card with all benefits.

They must be wrong ? Right? Help please, I went through a MEB with 2 LOD's both rated at 20% each.

I recommend looking at the CRSC threads. I'm pretty sure the DFAS person you had on the line is only partially correct, it's probably just the verbage you may have used.

I am in the same boat and am already prepared to file for CRSC as soon as my numbers come in. The CRSC should offset the difference. The net gain/loss is about the same as if you received both checks. Make sure that you specify that you were medically retired.

You will also want to check into
DoD 7000.14-R, VOLUME 7B, CHAPTER 63

CRDP needs a LOS retirement. It should start for you at 65. To get immediate payment you must apply for and receive CRSC.
